Artificial intelligence (AI) aims to mimic human cognitive functions such as "learning" and "problem solving and nowadays great changes are brought in healthcare. This increases healthcare data and rapid progress of analytic techniques. This further led to the recent successful applications of AI in healthcare. Popular AI techniques include machine learning methods for structured data, such as the classical support vector machine and neural network, and the modern deep learning, as well as natural language processing for unstructured data. Major disease areas that use AI tools include cancer, neurology and cardiology. Human physicians will not be replaced by machines, but AI can definitely assist physicians to make better clinical decisions or even replace human judgment in certain functional areas of healthcare.
